7/23/2023 0 Comments Fallout gimp editorIt wouldn't mean much to anyone outside of the game, but I had it, so thought I might as well share it. This one includes major Pre-War roads (Green) and Railways (Red), both based on real life road maps and railways.įaction map, as of Febuary 2162 in my campaign. Its limits are the Northern border of California, the Southern border of Arizona, the Eastern border of Colorado, and finally the western shoreline.Įxtra info for the basic map. For the moment it's not being worked on, but in future it might get updates. Hypocritical double final note: In case anyone wants it and the devs don't mind, I could also share the GIMP file that has the full project in it as I'm expanding the map/touching it up over time, though I'd have to do it over a file sharing site given its size.ĮDIT: Since someone has requested it, I'm linking here the GIMP file via Google Drive. On a final note, in case someone on the dev team sees this, I'd like to ask two quick questions:ġ) Would you mind if I shared this map elsewhere?Ģ) If I shared it, who should I give credit to? Based on the fact that DocAn uploaded it initially to the wiki, I'm assuming they've done the great work merging the maps initially, but I could be wrong.ĮDIT: Lexx clarified this, and was the original creator of the mergers. ("You fool! That's not even close to the shape of the Rocky Mountains!" is welcome, I've been struggling to find proper geographical, road and train maps that share projection with classic fallout) Since the game is still ongoing, if anyone has any input on it, feel free to tell me. However, when I saw that people before have shared similarly edited versions of their maps here, I thought I might as well put it up here. Yes I know, a lot of work, but you where'nt the one who had to make the equation so at least it was easier for you than me.Initially, I joined here trying to get in contact with the dev team in interest of asking permission to share an edited version of their excellent expanded map I've been using for a GURPS based Fallout game I've been running for some time now, as I thought it might be useful for others that might want to do something similar. For example the width of the jello box was 3.3in plus the two side which where 1in each, added together equals 5.3 in, times 100 equaling 530, when you put that in for the width GIMP puts in 814 for the height and you will have the exact size for the jello box. the next part will be the part you won't want to do, but will be glad you did do, take the width of the box, plus the width of the two sides of the box added together and multiply that by 100 (YES INCLUDE DECIMALS IF THERE ARE ANY!!!) and then put that in for the width of the pic, then GIMP will edit the height automatically for you, and yes its accurate. To edit the sizing of the picture, at the top of the screen click image, then go to scale image. So for anyone else who was doing these projects with GIMP and couldn't find the correct sizing, here's what to do. You want to cut out and glue down the Label in the same way. * You will need 2 of the Blamco Mac and Cheese Labels to cover an entire box of Mac and Cheese. (which I suppose you could just blame on 200 years of lying around an irradiated wasteland) I made all these label from scratch based on Info I found on the Fallout 3 Wiki. If you go and gob a bunch on there not only will it take for ever to dry but it will make you labels all wavy and bumpy looking. Notes Click Here to see an Instructable on making Nuka Cola Quantum I can't emphasize enough the use of THIN layers of glue. (Optional) After allowing to dry use Sand Paper to give the label a worn feel as well as look. Brush a thin coat of glue to the outside of the label. Apply a thin layer of glue between any overlapping areas. Work from the middle out to smooth the label into place. Carefully line up the label BEFORE it touches the glued surface. Apply a thin layer of Modge Podge / glue to the Item you are re-labeling. "Dry fit" the labels to be sure they are the right size 6. Print out the label(s) you want to use.* 4. Re-size the label in your image editor to be sure it fits. Measure the surface area of the Item you wish to apply the label to 2.
